After an accident, people are shaken and traffic builds up fast. Follow these steps in order.
- Check for injuries. Call 1122 if anyone is hurt. Do not move an injured person unless there is fire or traffic danger.
- Make the place safe. Hazard lights on, warning triangle behind the car, everyone off the road.
- Call the police. 15 in cities, 130 on motorways and national highways. A police report helps your insurance claim.
- Take photos. All sides of every car, number plates, the road, skid marks and any damage to property.
- Exchange details. Names, phone numbers, CNIC and insurance details of the other driver.
- Call your insurer. Most insurers want to be told quickly and may name a workshop.
- Move the car safely. If it is not safe to drive, call for accident recovery. We lift it on a flatbed and take it to the workshop your insurer names.
